At the show, Ricoh is demonstrating the company’s newest solution, which enables book manufacturers to improve profitability and expand their capabilities on short runs with efficient, comprehensive management of the production process from start to finish. TotalFlow Cadence for Publishing uses Ricoh’s award-winning Ricoh ProcessDirector to maximize tracking capabilities, so that book production is optimized, consistent and error-free. The flexibility of the solution allows it to integrate with a wide variety of digital output technologies, including the InfoPrint 5000.
At Graph Expo, attendees will see the effectiveness of the single system workflow solution for ultra-short run book production, allowing book publishers and production facilities to:
- Streamline workflow and onboard work quickly, with a flexible workflow that creates batches based on job characteristics and moves them through imposition, printing and binding.
- Monitoring of each title with automated workflow tracking, which controls each element of the print production process, from order receipt to job completion, via a centralized web interface. Users can also add barcodes or other unique identifiers to book elements in order to track the production process from end-to-end.
- Meet business commitments and deadlines with complete output integrity that optimizes production by batching or ganging jobs with similar characteristics, such as paper stocks, imposition layouts, binding and other requirements. TotalFlow Cadence for Publishing also supports automated reprints of missing or damaged books or elements of the book.
