New features provide broader range of benefits, empowering customers to deliver more versatile, higher quality output
CHICAGO (Graph Expo - Booth #2600) – October 8, 2012
Ricoh Production Print Solutions LLC (Ricoh), a leading provider of digital output solutions, today announced new enhancements to its InfoPrint 5000, the company’s flagship inkjet continuous form solution. The InfoPrint 5000 family now offers an additional physical configuration to provide more flexibility in print shop layouts, increased improvements in print quality such as expanded halftone capabilities to further optimize monochrome output, operator productivity enhancements such as increased granularity in operator-selectable speeds and increased printhead life validated across its large worldwide install base. These new features and functions are a further indication of Ricoh’s ongoing commitment to meeting customer needs by delivering field-upgradeable extensions that enable clients to protect and build upon their current investments.
At Graph Expo 2012, attendees can learn more about these new upgrades, among many other portfolio enhancements at Ricoh Booth #2600.
Since its introduction in 2007, the InfoPrint 5000 has been a leader in the acceptance of inkjet technology by providing transactional and commercial printers with high quality, high reliability, high speed solutions with ease-of-use and productivity features including an industry-unique suite of ink management tools. Ricoh continues to enhance this market- leading family, protecting customers’ investments and helping them to expand their capabilities and offerings. Today’s InfoPrint 5000 enhancements include:
- Additional configuration option: This new feature allows the InfoPrint 5000 engines to be positioned parallel to each other, with operator panels on the front of the print engines facing one another. This flexibility can contribute to increased productivity of the print operation and workflow at a customer site.
- Operator productivity enhancements: These include a new speed option enabling customers run jobs at 315 feet per minute to adapt to the operational aspects of particular post-processing / finishing equipment with particular papers, resulting in cost- savings for customers. Other productivity enhancements include improved interior lighting, simplified paper management and alignment; enabling optional workflow control panel, and some enhanced security features.
- Print quality extensions to provide enhanced monochrome halftones: Enhanced half-toning helps customers – specifically in the book printing market – to provide sharper gray levels across a broader range of media and jobs. This feature provides InfoPrint 5000 MP Mono customers with the ability to further expand the range of applications they can produce.
- AFP IS/3 Architecture support: IS/3, the latest Advanced Function Presentation (AFP) architecture release from the AFP Consortium with 36 member companies across the industry, enables customers to reduce both the cost and time involved in configuring, installing and operating AFP systems from multiple vendors throughout their print shop. Across-the-board IS/3 compliance from hardware and software vendors empowers the customer to build a heterogeneous, end-to-end solution based on the latest architecture enhancements.
“The InfoPrint 5000 is our flagship family, and the features we are announcing today continue to demonstrate our commitment to protecting customer investments in hardware, software, workflow, and infrastructure,” said Mike Herold, worldwide product manager for inkjet solutions at Ricoh. “Responding to customer requirements is our top priority, and that on- going focus along with the InfoPrint 5000 technology benefits has enabled us to maintain the leadership position in the industry, in both purchased systems and pages produced.”
The InfoPrint 5000 family continues its momentum as a leading choice for commercial and transactional printers. Most recently, market-leaders such as First Data, and Frederic Printing, a Consolidated Graphics company, have leveraged the InfoPrint 5000 to deliver on the needs of their customers while achieving outstanding ROI results.
